Conservatives For Obama?

Conservatives Killin gRomney's Chances?

from http://www.rumproast.com

Let’s face it.  Romney is lukewarm, milk toast, unexciting, tepid, moderate, and on and on.  He is not the ‘ideal ‘ conservative candidate.  Hell, Ronald Reagan wouldn’t be an ideal conservative candidate these days.

But Romney has one VERY positive thing going for him – he’s not Barack Obama! And like it or not, he is going to be the Republican nominee.

Judging from what I see on the Twitter-verse, many many conservatives DON’T like it.  The attacks against Romney from conservatives is much more vehement than the attacks coming from the Obama camp. Indeed, the conservative attacks against Romney are every bit as fervent as the conservative attacks against the current administration!

In addition to the Romney-care arguments, legitimate perhaps, I have seen Romney called a ‘globalist tyrant’ whatever that is, and have seen accusations that he is under criminal investigation. He is crucified for,  gasp, running to the middle as a candidate in a very blue state. He is called… never mind, just look at the Twitter feed below, I can just about guarantee there will be several anti-Romney tweets, and more from conservatives than from the Huffington Post!

The new (actually, the re-emerging, for the third or fourth time) Great Right Hope is Newt Gingrich.  Fiscal conservatives are rallying around the campaign that features bounced checks, $50 photo ops, the disorganization which resulted in the inability to even qualify for the ballot in several instances, and the outright attacks on capitalism. Sorry, but that deserves a WTF?!

Hey, I actually like some of Newt’s ideas.  He caught hell for the “Mayor of the Moon” deal, but I am all for space exploration, particularly when private enterprise does it.  And there is no doubt Gingrich would slaughter Obama in a debate -  I would love to see that! But the man simply cannot be elected.  Way too much baggage.

So until America is willing to look past sound bites and really elect a true change candidate like Ron Paul, it appears Romney is the best hope to change the current occupant of the White House.  How about we leave the opposition research to the Democrats!
